The 4th World Series of Fighting event finally has main event and it will see at Light Heavyweight Tyrone “The King of the Ring” Spong (1-0) taking on Angel DeAnda (11-2). Previously announced to be on the “Notorious” Nick Newell (9-0) has an opponent Keon Caldwell (9-1).
Taking the honors of being the WSOF 4 co-main event will be a Bantamweight battle between Marlon Moraes (10-4-1) and Brandon Hempleman (9-1). A welterweight bout pitting Jorge Santiago (25-11) vs. Jerald Harris (21-5) has also made its way on the card.
In his MMA debut Tyrone Spong knocked out Travis Batlett in 3:15 of round 1. Spong has not fought in MMA since but, did win the Glory 9 New York Light Heavyweight kickboxing tournament; winning 3 fights in 1 night.
Since a knockout loss to James Irvin, Angel DeAnda has won 4 fights in row all by TKO over Marcus Gaines, Kawika Morton, Drew Montgomery, and Anthony Ruiz. DeAnda has 10 of 11 win by KO/TKO.
Nick Newell last competed at XFC 21 defeating Eric Reynolds for the vacant XFC Lightweight title. Newell then as a free agent signed with World Series of Fighting.
Keon Caldwell has won back to back fights by TKO over Bryan Keller and Jonathan Baldree, bouncing back from a submission loss to Dhiego Lima.
Marlon Moraes has won 4 fights in row including defeating Miguel Torres (SD) and Tyson Nam (KO).
Brandon Hempleman is on a 6 fight winning streak and is most recently coming off a unanimous decision victory over Paul McVeigh.
Since moving from Middleweight to Welterweight Jorge Santiago has went 2-1 defeating Leonardo Pecanha (KO) and Justin Guthrie (SUB), while suffering a set back on the big stage; losing a unanimous decision to Gunnar Nelson at UFC on Fuel TV 7.
