Quintana, since losing his pro debut by split decision to Matt Hunt, has won 5 fights in a row all by TKO. In his last 3 fights “The Bullet” has defeated current UFC fighter Yaptzin Meza, Russell Wilson at Bellator 91, and Brian Castillo in the main event of the last Chinaco MMA.
Avelar, comes into this fight looking to end a two fight losing skid to Russell Doane and Jacob Hardgrove both by submission. The losing streak came on the heels of consecutive decisions over Scott Brown and Jon Maryanski. Avelar has 2 of 3 stoppage wins by TKO.
