Iaquinta replaces injures Mulhern vs. Couture at UFC 164
TUF 15 finalist Al Iaquinta (5-2-1), thanks to a fractured hand of Quinn Mulhern (18-3), will meet Ryan Couture (6-2) in a Lightweight battle at UFC 164.
Iaquinta, made it to the TUF 15 finals vs. Michael Chiesa, who would submit Iaquinta in the first round. Iaquinta also lost his last bout to Pat Audinwood by submission; prior to going on the TUF show. Iaquinta is a member of the Serra-Longo Fight Team and has 3 of 4 stoppage wins by KO/TKO.
Couture, is coming off a UFC debut loss to Ross Pearson by TKO, that ended a 4 fight win streak in Strikeforce; in which Couture defeated Maka Watson (MD), Conor Heun (TKO), Joe Duarte (SD), and KJ Noons (SD),
UFC 164 take place on August 31, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and is headlined by Anthony “Showtime” Pettis challenging Benson “Smooth” Henderson for the UFC Lightweight title.
