Wilson Replaces Garcia vs. Bunch at Bellator 97

Injury has forced Steve Garcia (1-0) to withdraw from his Bellator 97 bout with Shawn Bunch (1-0) of American Kickboxing Academy, who will instead take on “The Honey Bager” Russell Wilson (1-2) of Lovato’s Total fitness.

Bunch a former Olypmic wrestling alternate, made and won his pro debut at Bellator 82 winning a unanimous decision over Chad Coon.

Wilson himself a New Mexico state high school wrestling champion, will belooking to bounce back from a 3rd round TKO loss to Andres Quintana in what was the Bellator 91 fight of the night.

Bellator 97 takes place on July 31, at the Sanat Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and is headlined by 2 title bouts with Andrey Koreshkov challenging Ben Asken fron the Bellator Welterweight title and David Rickles challenging Michael Chandler for the Bellator Lightweight title.
