Rickles vs. Ambrose Tops Bellator 103 Announcement

The main card of Bellator 103 will see the featherweight tournament semifinals and a Lightweight match-up between Season 8 tournament winner David “The Caveman” Rickles (14-2) and two-time tournament competitor JJ “Superman” Ambrose (19-4).

David Rickles had his shot at gold at Bellator 97, but fell short being knocked out by Micheal Chandler in 44 seconds. Since a submission loss to Brent Weedman ended a 7 fight win streak, Ambrose has knocked out Dong Sun Choi and submitted Brian Warren, while most recently having a bout with Ibrahim Ahmed deemed a no contest in the first round.

The prelim portion of the October 11th, event at the Kansas Star Casino will see Cody Carrillo (8-6) facing Ricky “The Spazmanian Devil” Musgrave (9-3) at Featherweight, Jeimeson Saudino (6-1) meets Jesse Thornton (4-7) at Bantamweight, Marcio Navarro (9-8) takes on Donnie Bell (8-2) at lightweight, Maurice Jackson (2-1) suqares off with Matt Uhde (3-3) at Light Heavyweight, Remy Bussieres (2-0) clashes with Blake “The Bull” Pool (4-2), and Wayman Carter (3-1) collides with Carlos Eduardo (10-2) in a Light Heavyweight battle.

The season 9 Featherweight torunament quarterfinals take place at Bellator 99 on September 13. with Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (18-2) vs.Diego “The Gun” Nunes (18-4), Shahbulat Shamhalaev (12-2-1) vs. Akop Stepanyan (13-5), Joe Taimanglo (18-4-1) vs. Andrew Fisher (12-4-1), and Fabricio Silva (17-2) vs. Desmond Green (8-1).
