WSOF 6: adds Volkmann vs. Firmino
The prelim protion of WSOF 6 will be topped by a meeting of Lightweights Jacob Volkmann (16-4) and Luiz Firmino (16-6).
Volkmann a fomer Welterweight dropped to Lightweight and then won 5 fights in a row. After losses to Paul Sass and Booby green sandwiched a win over Shane Roller, Volkmann was released from the UFC. In his WSOF debut Volkmann earned a unanimous decision win over Lyle Beerbohm.
Firmino, a member of the Blackzilians and is vet of such promotions as M-1, Pride, and Dream. Firmino recently fighting in the CFA won compiled a 3 fight winning streak defeating Johnavan Vistante (SUB), Toby Imada (UD), and Luis Palomino. Firmino has 7 of 8 stoppage wins by submission.
WSOF 6 takes place on October 36th, at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The main event will see Steve Carl vs. Josh Burkman, with the winner becoming the inaugural WSOF Welterweight champion.
