Invicta FC 7 Headlined by Esparza vs. Gadelha

The Invicta Strawweight title fight we been waiting for of Carla “Cookie Monster” Espaza (9-2) vs. Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha (11-0) will reportedly serve as the Invicta FC 7 main event. Invicta FC 7 will take place on December 7, in Kansas City, Missouri, 5 months after the promotions last event.

Esparza and Gadelha was originally expected to compete at Invicta FC 4 for the inaugural Strawweight title. That didn’t happen as a broken nose forced Gadelha to with draw from the contest just days before the bout. At Invicta FC 4 Esparza be came the IFC Strawweight champion and ran her current winning streak to 4 with a unanimous decision win over Bec Hyatt. Esparza was next scheduled to defend her title vs. former Jewels champion Ayaka Hamaski at Invicta FC 6. A knee injury would force Esparza out of the contest. Replacing the champ would be Gadelha, who would win by 2nd round TKO earning a shot at the Strawweight title.

Carla Esparza is a California based fighter and member of Team Oyama, who has 6 stoppage win split down the middle with 3KO/TKO’s and 3 submissions.

Brazilian Claudia Dadelha trains at Nova Uniao and has 8 stoppage wins with 2 TKO’s and 6 submissions.
