Former champions will collide when former WEC & UFC Lightweight champion Benson “Smooth” Henderson (19-3) clashes with former Strikeforce Lightweight champion Josh “The Punk” Thomson (20-5) in the main event of UFC on Fox 10 on January 25, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
This will be the first time back in the octagon for Henderson since being submitted at UFC 164 by Anthony Pettis. Both of Henderson’s last 2 loss have been to Anthony Pettis. In-between the 2 losses, “Smooth” won 7 consecutive bouts all by decision.
Thomson had been scheduled to face Anthony Pettis for the UFC Lightweight at UFC on Fox 9 on December 14, but that fight was canceled by a Pettis knee injury. “The Punk” is coming off of a 2nd round stoppage win over Nate Diaz.
