For undisclosed reason the UFC has announced that Blackzilian member Thiago Silva (16-3) has been forced out of a just announced UFC Fight Night 35 co-main event battle with Ovince St. Preux (14-5).

It’s expected that St. Preux will remain on the card with a new opponent.

Silva has won back to back fights over Rafael Cavalcante and Matt Hamill. Silva in 2009 fought Lyoto Machida in a number one contenders bout. Since that time Silva is 3-2-0, 2 NC. Silva has 12 of 14 stoppages by (T)KO.

OSP has won 11 of his last 12 fights, with the lone loss coming by unanimous decision to Gegard Mousasi. Since the loss to Mousasi, St. Preux has defeated TJ Cook (KO), Gian Villante (MD), and Cody Donovan (KO). OSP has 10 stoppage wins with 7 by (T)KO and 9 in the 1st round.

UFC Fight Night 35 takes place on January 15 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia; headlined by Luke Rockhold vs. Constantinos Philippou.
