2 More Sets of Dance Partners added to UFC 171
The UFC has announced a Texas 2 step of an announcement with a pair of match-up added to UFC 171 with Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen”Pena (5-2) to tangle with Jessica Andrade (10-3) and Dennis “The Menace” Bermudez (12-3) squares off with Jim “The Kid” Hettes (11-1).
Pena who became the first female winner of “TUF”did so by defeating Jessica Rakoczy by TKO with one second left in the 1st round. The win ended a 2 fight skid to Sarah Moras and DeAnna Bennett. Pena has all 5 of her wins by stoppage with 2 (T)KO and 3 submissions.
After a two fight win streak led Andrade to the octagon, her debut was unsuccessful falling to Liz Carmouche by 2nd round TKO. The 22 year old Brazilian would bounce back in England defeating Rosi Sexton at UFC Fight Night 30 by lopsided unanimous decision.
Since being submitted in the TUF 14 Featherweight finals by Diego Brandao, Bermudez has defeated Pablo Garza (UD), Tommy Hayden (SUB), Matt Grice (SD), Max Holloway (SD), and Steven Siler (UD).
Hettes joined was signed to the UFC after 8 wins on the regional circuit. In his UFC debut “The Kid” would submit Alex Caceres, and followed up with a decision victory over Nam Phan; before dropping a decision to Marcus Brimage. Most recently Hettes put to sleep Robert Whiteford at UFC Fight Night 30 with a triangle choke.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; headlined by Robbie Lawler battling Johny Hendricks for the vacant UFC Welterweight championship.
