Rivera’s Injury Open Door for Pedro Munhoz UFC Debut

A broken hand suffered by Francisco Rivera (10-2-0-1, nc), will give RFA Bantamweight champion Pedro “The Young Punisher” Munhoz (10-0) his call to the big show to take on number 3 ranked Raphael Assuncao (21-4) at UFC 170.

Munhoz a member of the Black House and Kings MMA, in his last two bouts won the RFA Bantamweight tile by split decision over Jeff Burran; then submitted Billy Daniels to defend the title at RFA 12.

Assuncao over the last 2 ½ years is on a 5 fight winning streak, having defeated Johnny Eduardo (UD), Issei Tamura (TKO), Mike Easton (UD), Vaughan Lee (SUB), and TJ Dillashaw (SD).

UFC 170 is on February 22, at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada; headlined by Sara McMann challenging Ronda Rousey for the Women’s UFC Bantamweight title.
