The coaches of the 19th season of the Ultimate Fighter Frankie “The Answer” Edgar (16-4-1) and BJ “The Prodigy” Penn (16-9-2) will have there third meeting and first at Featherweight as the main event of the July 6th TUF 19 Finale at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC 112 and 116 where the sites of their first two meetings where Edgar would dethrone Penn as Lightweight champion and retain the title both by unanimous decision.
Edgar in his last 4 bouts is 1-3 coming off a decision win over Charles Oliveira that end a 3 fight losing streak, twice losing to Benson Henderson and once to Jose Aldo all by decision.
Penn after the consecutive loss to Edgar moved back to Welterweight an in 4 fight there knocked out Matt Huges, fought to a draw with Jon Fitch; and then lost decisions to Nick Diaz and Rory MacDonald.
