A previously announced UFC 172 Lightweight bout between Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-4-1) and Danny “Last Call’ Castillo (16-6) has turned into two Lightweight bouts. Today March 5, it was announced that instead Vallie-Flagg will be facing “The Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi (34-9) and Castillo will meet Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman (19-6).
Vallie-Flagg will be looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Elias Silverio that ended a 12 fight unbeaten streak.
Gomi last competed a year ago losing a split decision to Diego Sanchez that ended a 2 fight win streak.
Castillo is also coming off having a 2 fight wins streak was ended by a majority decision loss to Edson Barboza,
After losing 3 out of 4 Brenneman was released from the UFC. “The Spaniard” win win 4 to get back to the company but in that return was submitted by Beneil Dariush.
