The newest addition to the UFC’s return to Germany, UFC Fight Night Berlin- Munoz vs. Mousasi, is a Bantamweight bout pitting Brazilian Iuri Alcantara (29-5) against England’s Vaughan Lee (14-9-1).
Alcantara is 2-1 in his last 3 fights with a knock out of Iliarde Santos, a unanimous decision loss to Urijah Faber, and most recently scoring a split decision win over Wilson Reis. Alcantara has shown the ability to bring fight ending power in his striking down with him from a 145 lbs. Even in his most recent lost to Urijah Faber, a top 3 Bantamweight, Alcantara did have the Team Alpha Male leader in survival mode in round 1 of their meeting landing a big punch an then hunting for the submission.
Lee in 6 UFC bouts has a 3-3 mark alternating wins and losses. The loss tho have come against top competition, now top 10 Flyweight Chris Cariaso, and top 5 Bantamweights JT Dillashw an Raphael Assuncao. Lee’s most recent win, a unanimous decision over tough Nam Phan showcased Lee’s striking has evolved to a new level.
UFC Fight Night Berlin takes place on May 31st at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany; and is headlined by Mark Munoz vs. Gegard Mousasi.
