Birchak Injured, Croom now in Title Eliminator at MFC 40
Maximum Fighting Championsips has announced that due to a lower body injury Bantamweight champion Anthony Birchak (11-1) has been forced to withdraw from MFC 40, which would have been his first title defense against “The Hard Hitting Hillbilly” Kevin Croom (14-4).
Croom will remain on the card instead colliding with Jesse Brock (16-8) in a 3 round title eliminator.
Croom is on a 10 winning streak that includes 4 wins by rear naked choke, 3 by TKO’s and a most recent unanimous decision win over Bryan Goldsby at Titan FC 27.
Brock who recently signed a 4 fight deal with the MFC, is 2-2 in his last 4 fights decision losses to Jimmie Rivera and Caol Uno sandwiching a TKO win over Thiago Alves and a unanimous decision win over Adrian Cruz.
The MFC has announced the 3 bout that will make up the MFC 40 facebook prelims with at BantamweightCorey “The Hatchet” Gower meeting Jon “Untameable” Barnard , at Lightweight Cody Moorman faces Levon Kinley , and also at Bantamweight Justin Lavertu takes on Mike Hay.
MFC 40 will be on May 10th at the Shaw Conference Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
