Sonnen-Silva Moves to UFC 175

TUF 3 coaches Chael Sonnen (28-14-1) and Wanderlie Silva have been moved again from UFC 173 on May 24th, to UFC Fight Night in Brazil on May 31st, and is now on the card for UFC 175 on July 5.

The UFC did not give a reason for the move.

The new UFC Fight Night on May 31st main event will be, moved up from the co-main event spot; Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos (16-3) vs. Stipe Miocic (11-1). This will be the first bout since Dos Santos lost to Cain Velasquez (TKO) at UFC 166. Miocic has won back to back unanimous decisions over Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga.

Sonnen is coming off a UFC 167, TKO loss to former Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, while Silva fought in March of 2013, defeating Brian Stann by second round knock out. The bout will most likely serve as as the events co-main event.

UFC 175 on July 5, at the Mandaly Bay Events Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada; is headlined by Lyoto “The Dragon Machida challenging Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight Title.
