Wanderlie Silva is out of UFC 175 after some strange  refusing to take a drug test.

Instead Chael Sonnen (28-14-1) will remain on the card and pending licensing approval, will battle Vitor Belfort (24-10); in what is being called a Middleweight number 1 contenders match; taking place at 205 lbs.

Originally at UFC 173 Chris Weidman was scheduled to defend the UFC Middleweight title against Vitor Belort, who was taken out the bout after TRT was made illegal in Nevada; Belfort’s championship opportunity was given to Lyoto Machida. Due to a Weidman having knee surgery the title bout was pushed back to UFC 175.

Belfort was pulled off UFC 173 to get his testosterone levels in order and also there was whispers of could Belfort ever again get a license to fight in Nevada, guess that question will be answered soon. But it has always been said that Belfort would get the winner of Weidman- Machida; I guess that kinda changed too.

Got to say it’s funny to see Belfort have to defend his title shot while on a 3 fight knock out win streak, against a TV host/coach who is 1-3 in his last 4 fights.

Belfort in his last 3 fights has stopped Luke Rochold, Michel Bisping, and Dan Henderson; Sonnen is coming off coaching TUF Brazil 3, the set of UFC Tonight, and a TKO loss to Rasad Evans.

UFC 175 is on July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
