Perez- Lovato II Headlines Combat Xtreme- Unfinished Business

The bout that closed out the Legacy 30 card, that saw Gene “The Kid” Perez (4-6) take a controversial unanimous decision over Mikey “The Burque Bulldog” Lovato (10-4) will be re-matched on July19 in Gene’s home town of Belen, New Mexico, at Sheriffs Posse (10 Interstate 25 Bypass, Belen, NM 87002); as the main event of Combat Xtreme- War of Warriors.

Gene Perez the owner of Perez Fighting Systems in Belen, NM, ended a 3 fight skid that saw submission losses to Ray Borg, Nick Gonzalez , and Matt Betzold. “the Kid” has 3 of his 4 wins by (T)KO.

Mikey Lovato is a member of Lutrells MMA and Albuquerque Kickboxing, and Lovato’s Total Fitness. Lovato is also the head wrestling coach at West Mesa high school. Lovato’s loss to Perez was his 3rd in a row, but was his first fight nearly 3 years.”The Burque Bulldog” a former state wrestling champion had won 6 consecutive bouts before this skid. Lovat has 6 of 8 stoppage wins by (T)KO.

Combat Xtreme- War of Warriors is expected to be 13 bout card, but as always card is subject to change. This one of a kind out door event will feature fighters from New Mexico, Arizone, Michigan, Texas, and other parts of the United State. Lenny “The Godfather” Lovato (8-3) is also expected to be in action.

Combat Xtreme also told us today that they are working on a 6-fight, 9-month pro/am series, that will feature tournaments to crown 4-amateur state champions at 170 lbs, 125 lbs, and 2 other weight classes are still being decided on. The series is expected to start in Santa Fe, then to Framington, Gallup, Las Cruse, Clovis, and ending with 4 title bouts in Albuquerque.
