UFC 178 Headlined by Jones vs. Gustafsson II
Fight fans have been hoping for it and the most asked for rematch that could take place, is set for September 27, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson (16-2) for the second time will try to knock Jon “Bones” Jones (20-1) down from atop the UFC Light Heavyweight mountain.
With out a doubt Gustafsson was able to push Jones further then any other challenger. In fact in many peoples eyes the decision read at UFC should have announced a new world champion.
Gustafsson with his on frame being comprable to Jones and great foot-work gave the champ problems early in their first encouter.
Gusfatsson’s UFC 165 decision loss to Jones ended a 6 fight win streak. Sweaden’s top mixed martial artist was again named the top contneder following an impressive knock out of then undeafeted Jimi Manuwa.
Jon Jones is coming off his 7th consecutive sucessful title defense and 10th straight win, after defeating Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision at UFC 171.
