UFC Fight Night 49 has added welterweight Demian Maia (19-6) vs. Mike Pyle (26-9-1) and that at Middleweight Thales Leites (23-4) takes on Francis Carmont (22-9). Maia is coming off a decision win over Alexander Yakovlev that ended a 2 fight skid. Pyle is 5-1 in his last 6, coming off a TKO of TJ Waldburger. Leites has won 6 in a row and 3 straight in the octagon over Tom Watson (UD), Ed Herman (UD), and Trevor Smith (TKO).Carmont is coming off back to back loss to CB Dollaway and Ronaldo Souza, that follows a 11 fight win streak. UFC Fight Night 49 is on August 23 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Also at UFC Fight Night 49. The injury bug will not leave Thiago Alves (20-9) alone. Jordan Mein (28-9), Alves original opponent, will not focus in on replacement Brand Thatch (11-1) at UFC Fight Night 49. Mein is 4-1 in his last 5 and is coming off a split decision win over Hernani Perpetuo. Thatch in 2 trips to the octagon has TKO’ed Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago.

UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo (24-1) is injured an has withdrew from the UFC 176, where he was to defend his title against Chad Mendes (16-1) for the 2nd time on August 2 at the Staple Center in Los Angeles California.

Myles Jury (14-0) vs. Takanori Gomi (35-9) has been added to UFC Fight Night 52 on September in Japan. Jury is 5-0 in the UFC with wins over Chris Saunders (SUB), Michael Johnson (UD), Ramsey Nijem (KO), Mike Ricci (SD), and Diego Sanchez (UD). Gomi since a 1-3 stint has turned thing around going 3-1 coming off a unanimous decision win over Isaac Vallie- Flagg.

UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin, Ireland, on July 19 has seen Tom Lawlor go down with injury. Ilir Latifi (8-3-1) will now meet late replacement Chris Dempsey (10-1). Latifi is coming off a submission of Cyrille Diabate, while Dempsey has a 8 fight win streak, and 3 (T)KO; to his name.

Instead of competing on the 20th season of TUF Juilana Lima (6-1), who’s coming off a TKO of Liliani Trolezi, will take on Joanna Jedrzejczyk (6-0) who in June knocked out, UFC and Bellator vet Rosi Sexton; at UFC on Fox 12.

Olympic Silver medalist winner Sara McMann (7-1) will welcome Invicta FC Bantamweight champion Lauren Murphy (8-0) to the octagon at UFC Fight Night 47 on August 16 in Bangor, Maine. McMann will be getting back in action for the first time since a fail bind to dethrone Ronda Rousey. Murphy will be making her promotional debut having not fought since defeating Miriam Nakamoto, for the inaugural Invicta FC Bantamweight title in December of 2013.

Jackson-Wink trained fighter and Former UFC Heavyweight champion Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski (22-10) coming off a return to the octagon split decision win over Brendan Schaub, his 3rd win in a row now has his sights on avenging a 2010 decision loss to Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. Silva after a tremendous fight with Mark Hunt, that ended in a Majority Draw, tested positive for elevated testosterone, and is about to be done with his 9 month suspension. Since the win over Arlovski, Silva has gone 4-3-1, while Arlovski has gone 7-2-0, 1 nc. The bout is expected to headline UFC Fight Night 51 in Brazil.

Renan Barao (32-2) has been given a chance to regain the UFC Bantamweight title, but he will do so in TJ Dillashaw’s (10-2) home of Sacramento, California, on August 30th; in the main event of UFC 177. Team Alpha Males Dillashaw has won 6 of his last 7, including a unanimous decision win over Mike Easton, before as a huge underdog TKO’ing Barao. For Nova Unioa’s Barao the loss was his first in over 9 years, and ended a 33 fight unbeaten streak that saw a 22 straight wins.

Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson II is finally official for UFC 178 on September 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Overall “Bones” has won 11 fights in a row including a dominate unanimous decision win over Glover Teixeira, which followed the close decision win over Gustafsson; that was the 2013 fight of the year. Since UFC 165 “The Mauler” has reestablished himself as the top challenger to the3 throne with a TKO of previously undefeated knock out artist Jimi Manuwa.
