Jake Shields Meets Ryan Ford in WSOF 14 Main Event
A Welterweight bout pitting Cesar Gracie Fight Teams Jake Shields (29-7-1,1 nc) against Tristar Gym’s Ryan Ford (22-4) will headline WSOF 14, on October 11th, at the Edmonton Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
This will be World Series of Fighting’s fist big event outside of the United States, but not the first time WSOF is in Canada, as the promotion has held 2 smaller WSOF Canada events.
Shields a former Strikeforce champion and UFC title challenger will be making his WSOF debut after having withdrawn from a scheduled WSOF 10 bout with Jon Fitch. Shields is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Hector Lombard that ended a 2 fight win streak.
Ford a MFC and Bellator vet also had to pull out of his last scheduled fight , which was to be in the main event WSOF Canada 2 against Bristol Marunde. Ford has won 6 fights in a row with 4 by (T)KO.
