It’s official on August 30th Chavez/ Crespin Promotions will present “Battle At The Sunset” on August 30 as the inaugural event for the newly renovated Sports Complex; located at Bridge and SunSet.
As we previously announced the main event will feature Team Tapia’s Josh “Pitbull” Torres(13-3, 6 ko) who is 6-2 in his last 8,and is coming off a 2nd round knockout of Francisco Lira in the main event of May 31st Dia de Johnny Tapia event.
The co-main event features Las Vegas New Mexico’s Arturo “Le Torro” Crespin (11-3-1, 1nc 4KO) is the winner of 4 of his last 5 coming off a split decision win over Julio Cesar Lanzas at the Chavez Promotions Fights at Pal Auditorium event.
And in a special feature bout Alex Holguin (1-1) will be in action.
Torres, Crespin, and Holguin are all awaiting opponents for the event.
Sources have been a;le to confirm to me one official match-up for the event that will see Gene “The Kid” Perez (1-1) vs. Jose Osorio (0-1). Perez also fight in MMA and is coming off back to back wins over Mikey Lovato. This will be the first boxing match for Perez since a December 2012, 1st round TKO loss to Jason Sanchez at the Route 66 Casino. Osario is still in search of his first pro win coming off a 1st round knock out loss to Luis Montano, at the Holmes Boxing May event “Latin Collision”.
