Last night (10/22/14) news broke that at UFC 182, on January 3rd, in Las Vegas, Nevada; Cat Zingano (9-0) will challenge Ronda Rousey (10-0) for the Woman’s UFC Bantamweight title.

Zingano at UFC 178 returned to action after recovering from a ACL tear nd some other personal issues. Zingano survived a beating in the 1st round, only to come back an score a TKO of Amanda Nunes in the 3rd round. Zingano also scored a 3rd round TKO of Miesha Tate, in her promotional debut. Zingano known as a tenacious Jui Jitsu practitioner, who has 5 of 8 stoppage wins by (T)KO.

The queen of the armbar, the only ever UFC woman’s Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey started off her career with 8 straight wins by armbar, in her last 2 Rousey has scored TKO’s of Sara McMann (knee to liver) and Alexis Davis (judo throw to ground and pound). Rousey has only gone past the 1st round in 1 fight and has only been past the 4-minute mark in the 1st round 3-times. In total between Strikeforce and the UFC, Rousey has made 5 consecutive successful title defenses.

January 3rd, UFC 182 will also feature the highly anticipated Light Heavyweight title bout between Jon “Bones” Jones and Daniel Cormier.
