Bigfoot vs. Mir & Jacare vs. Romero added to UFC 184

UFC 100 Weigh In

A veteran Heavyweight battle and what should be a Middleweight number 1 contenders bout have been added to the February 28th, UFC 184, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir (16-9) will face former title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (18-6-1). Mir will be in search of his first win in 4 fights, while Silva is 0-2-1 in his last 3. Combined the two men have 28 stoppages, out of 34 wins.

Number 3 ranked UFC Middleweight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (21-3-0, 1nc) & number 6 ranked Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero (9-1) have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 184, in a contest that most likely will produce the next 185 lbs. title challenger. Jacare has won 7 straight, including submitting Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 50. Since joining the UFC and moving to Middleweight, Romero has won 5 fights in a row. At UFC 178 Romero infamously refused to answer the bell and was given almost an extra 30 seconds on the corner stool to recover, before scoring a TKO of Tim Kennedy.

UFC 184 will feature two Title bouts with Vitor Belfort challenging Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title & Cat Zingano challenges Ronda Rousey for the Woman’s UFC Bantweight.
