Elite Combat Series One Featuring Lovato vs. Marin

MMA returns to the McKernan Event Center on January 24th, as Elven o2 Promotions, presents ECS (Elite Combat Series) One, which will be headlined by Lovato Total Fitness’s Lenny Lovato Jr. (8-4) vs. Chavez Dojo’s Francisco Marin (0-1).

Lovato a Bellator and Legacy vet, has lost 4 fight in a row. Lovato last hand his hand raised in June of 2009 when he scored a unanimous decision win over Nate Mohr. Marin has not fought since losing his pro debut to Martin Manrique at XFC 25.

Top notch wrestler Jesse Long (1-0) of Lovato’s Total Fitness meets Rosales Kickboxing & Conquest MMA’s, Kick Boxing Jiu Jitsu fighter Dorian Dixon (1-1). At RFA 18 with a Brabo choke Long put Federico Betancourt to sleep. Dixon even his record at Triple A MMA X: Gensis, submitting Hosay Batts, rebounding from a submission loss to Aaron Pearls.

Lutrell’s MMA’s Stephen Cervantes (2-0) will tangle with El Paso’s Brian Castillo (3-4). Cervantes a strong grappler and very athletic fighter will be returning to the cage for the first time in 9 months. Cervantes in his young career has defeated both Young Yu and Joel Whitney by unanimous decision. Castillo is coming off a Triple A MMA XI: Destiny submission loss to Angelo Sanchez. Castillo is win-less in his last 3.

Jackson’s MMA’s Andrew Tenneson (2-0) collides with Santa Fe’s Joel Whitney (1-1). Tenneson went 4-0 as an amateur with all 4 wins coming by stoppage and has continued that streak as a pro submitting Tom Cruz and Prentice Ingram. Joel Whitney went 3-0 as an amateur with 3 TKO’s win, but as a pro has dealt with adversity bouncing back from a unanimous decision loss to Stephen Cervantes at Triple A MMA V: Redemption at the Rock, to submit Isaac Barnes at Triple A MMA IX: Rock Solid.
