Holm vs. Pennington Take II

Healed from a neck injury Holly Holm (7-0) is again set to make her octagon debut against Raquel Pennington (5-4), but this time the fight is set for UFC 184.

Holm and Pennington had been scheduled to meet at UFC 181, but that bout was scrapped when Holm suffered a neck injury.

Pennington stayed on the UFC 181 card facing and putting to sleep Ashley Evans-Smith, with a bulldog choke. Altitude MMA’s, “Rocky”  was a member of Meisha Tates team on TUF 18. Pennington ended a 2 fight skid at the TUF 18 Finale with a unanimous decision win over Roxanne Modafferi. Pennington heading into coming off  a UFC 171 split decision loss to Jessica Andrade.

Undefeated in MMA, Holm a Jackson/Winkeljon’s team member has 6 of 7 wins by (T)KO and last fought in April scoring a 5th round TKO of Juliana Werner to become the 1st ever Legacy Women’s Bantamweight champion. Holm in her UFC debut will also be coming off healing a broken forearm that came via blocking a Werner Kick at Legacy 30. Holm thus far in her MMA career has showed of some of the most diverse striking in all of women’s MMA and her grappling is improving each time out.

UFC 184 is on February 28th, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California; and is headlined by Vitor Belfort challenging Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title.
