Today it’s been officially announced that Jackson’s MMA Series XIV on February 7th at the Buffalo Thunder Casino will be headlined by a Flyweight bout between Jackson’s MMA’s Nick Urso (7-2) & Luttrell’s MMA’s Josh Montoya (11-8).

Urso will be fighting for the first time since a submission loss to Ray Borg at Legacy FC 30, back in April 2014; which ended a 6 fight win streak. Urso’s last 2 wins have combined have taken less then 3-minutes. Urso came to MMA from Muay Thia but has 3 of 5 stoppage wins by submission. Since his last fight Urso has spent a good deal of time in Chicago working with Izzy Style Wrestling and Valle Flow Striking.

Montoya a long time vet of the New Mexico fight seen has won 3 of his last 4 fights, and coming off a 1st round TKO of Ed Tomaselli. But Montoya will have some ring rust to shake off as that win came back in September of 2013, meaning “The Destroy” has not competed in MMA for 16 months come fight time. Montoya has not competed in MMA since 2013, but did step in-between the ropes for a 4-round Boxing affair back in January of 2014.

One thing for sure this fight has fireworks written all over it.
