Bellator 134 adds King Mo vs. Kongo, & Douglas Lima is Injured
Long time Light Heavyweight contender Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (14-4) will be moving up to Heavyweight, to face Cheick Kongo (22-9-2) on February 27th, at Bellator 134.
“King Mo” a member of American Top Team,is 6-3 since joining Bellator MMA. Since a controversial decision loss to “Rampage”, Lawal has scored consecutive wins by TKO over Dustin Jacoby and Joe Vedepo; who both had moved up from Middleweight. Lawal is a high level wrestler, who has fallen in love with boxing. Lawal has very crisp hands but a tendency to drop his hands in worth keeping an eye on.
Kongo is 4-1 since joining Bellator MMA. The Frenchmen has won 2 in a row with a TKO of Eric Smith and most recently submitted fellow UFC vet Lavar Johnson. Kongo early in his career was know as a fierce kick boxer, but since a near loss Pat Barry, and losses by knock out to Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson, has become more of a clinch and take-down fighter; who still has big power.
In breaking news concerning Bellator 134, Welterweight champion Douglas Lima is injured and will be unable to defend his title against Paul Daley (35-13-2), who is awaiting a new opponent.
Bellator 134 is on February 27th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut; and is headlined by Liam McGeary challenging Emanuel Newton for the Bellator Light Heavyweight.
