Fun Size Meets the Magician at UFC 187

The newest addition to the UFC’s memorial day card is a match-up of top 10 Flyweights, returning from injury, number 1 ranked John “The Magician” Dodson (16-6) will square off with number 9 ranked Zach “Fun Size” Makovsky (19-5).

Dodson who is returning from a torn ACL, will be continuing his climb back to a title shot. Since a unanimous decision loss to champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Fox 6, Dodson has knocked out Darrell Montague and scored a TKO (doctor stoppage) of John Moraga. Dodson is a powerful striker at 125 lbs. having 8 of 10 stoppage wins by knock out.

Makovsky was the first ever Bellator Bantamweight champion and is a former RFA Flywieght champion. Since joining the UFC “Fun Size” is 3-1, with decision wins over Scott Jorgensen, Josh Sampo, and Tim Elliott; with the lone loss coming by decision to Jussier Da Silva. Makovsky has 6 of 7 stoppage wins by submission.

UFC 187 is on May 24th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada; and is headlined by Anthony “Rumble” Johnson challenging Jon “Bones” Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight World Title.
