Bellator 138 adds Chandler vs Campos as Co-main Event

The co-main event for Bellator 138 on June 19th has been announced and will see former Lightweight champion Micheal Chandler (12-3) against Texan, Derek “The Stallion” Campos (15-4).

It’s worth noting that Bellator 138 was initially announce to be scheduled for June 20th but has been pushed up by one day to Bellator’s more normal Friday time slot.

Chandler twice defended his Bellator Lightweight title before losing it to Eddie Alvarez by split decision at Bellator 106. Chandler was granted a rematch and due to injury faced instead faced Will Brooks in a interim title bout at Bellator 120. Brooks would walk away form the bout with a split decision win. Chandler because he took the fight with Brooks on short notice was given a chance to fight Brooks for the full Lightweight title as it had been vacated by Eddie Alvarez who signed with the UFC. Brook would win the 2nd bout at Bellator 131 by 4th round TKO. From 12-0 to a 3 fight losing streak, Michael Chandler’s road back to the top starts on June 19th.

Campos has won 6 of 7 and rebounded from a TKO to Patricky Freire at Bellator 117, to defeat Estevan Payan at Bellator 126, via a 1st round TKO in under a minute.

Bellator 138 on June 19th takes place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis Missouri.
