World Series of Fighting has announced that there August 1st event at the Axis at the Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will feature 3 title fights including the crowning of the 1st ever WSOF Flywieght champion.
Competing for the honor of being the 1st WSOF 125 lbs. title holder will be a pair of undefeated’s Magomed Bibulatov (9-0) and Donavon Frelow (4-0). Bibulatov has 4 of 5 stoppage wins by submission, but is coming off his first win by knock out stopping Eduardo Felipe in under 2 minutes. Frelow has 3 of his 4 pro wins by submission, but is coming off a WSOF 17 unanimous decision win over Taylor McCorriston.
Also newly announced is that undefeated Sheymon da Silva (7-0) will challenge Marlon Moraes (14-4-1) for the WSOF Bantamweight championship. Team Nogueira’s Da Silva made his promotional debut at WSOF 16 with a split decision win over Gabriel Solorio. Moraes has won 9 in a or, including going 7-0 in the hexagon; most recently Moraes defended his title with a unanimous decision win over Josh Hill.
In a newly announced non-title main card light Heavyweight bout world class striker, undefeated Tyrone Spong (2-0) takes on MMA vet Mike Kyle (21-12-1).
WSOF 22’s main event will see submission artists Jake Shields and Rousimar Palhares battle for the WSOF Welterweight championship. It’s also worth noting that WSOF 22 will be taking place at the same time as UFC 190; we have a head to head fight night.
