It’s time for some unfinished business to be completed. Joseph Rios is out, instead on August 15th at the Albuquerque Convention Center, Tony “The Warrior” Valdez will again square off with Gilberto Mendoza; in the newly announced main event for IMI Groups “Duke City Throw Down”.
There first bout back on May 9th at the Camel Rock Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico is on my short list of candidates for New Mexico Boxing match of 2015.
Espanola New Mexico’s, Tony “The Warrior” Valdez has 7 wins by knockout but, has fought to the judges decision in his last 3 bouts defeating Jamie Gutierrez, and drawing with Felipe Rivas and Gilberto Mendoza. Mendoza had fought to the final bell in his last 8 fights. In his last 5 Mendoza is 3-1-1, with wins over Daniel Covielles, Don Jose, and Javier Lapizco.
In another addition Jason Sanchez coming off a unanimous decision win over Percy Peterson, tangles with Damen Wood, who’s looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Xavier Pacheco.
