2nd Championship Contest added to Bellator 144

A 2nd title bout has been announced for Octobers Bellator 144, that will see a Middleweight champion crowned with former title holder Brandon Halsey (9-0) facing Brazilian Rafael Carvalho (11-1).

Halsey won the Bellator 185 lbs. title at Bellator 126 submitting Alexander Shelmenko. Halsey was then stripped of the belt at his first title defense weigh-in for missing weight. Halsey then went out dominated and TKO’ed Kendall Grove in the 4th round of their Bellator 137 main event, to earn the shot at reclaiming his strap.

Carvalho has won 11 straight and has 9 win by knock out. Carvalho is 2-0 in Bellator with a TKO of Brain Rogers and a split decision win over Joe Schilling.

Welterweight Brennan Ward (11-3) and Michael Page (8-0) are also expected to be in action but opponents are yet to be announced.

Bellator 144 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, in headlined by Eduardo Dantas (17- 4) challenging Marcos Galvao (17-6-1) for the Bellator Bantamweight Championship.
