It’s hard to believe but the UFC and the Jackson-Wink camp have actually been able to keep Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (28-6) on the sidelines long enough for Rafel Dos Anjos (24-7) to recover from injury, giving “Cowboy” his hard earned UFC Title fight. Dos Anjos will make his first title defense on December 19 at the Amway Center in Orlando Florida against Cerrone in the recently announced main event of UFC on Fox 17.

Cerrone last fought at UFC 187 defeating John Makdessi with a 2nd round knock out via head kick. The win was Cerron’s 8th in a row since a decision loss to Rafael Dos Anjos and broke a streak of 3 straight decision wins, which had come against Eddie Alvarez, Myles Jury, and Benson Henderson.

Dos Anjos won the Lightweight World Title at UFC 185 and won his 4th in a row with a unanimous decision win over Anthony Pettis, who went into the fight as a 5-1 favorite. Dos Anjos has won 9 of 10 and in that streak is a UFC Fight Night 27 unanimous decision win over Donald Cerrone.
