Ferguson-Nurmagomendov Among 3 fight Official for TUF 22 Finale
The 22nd Finale of the original “The Ultimate Fighter “ will take place on December 11th, in Las Vegas, the day before UFC 194. So far we have 3 fight official for the card with one at 170 lbs. and a pair of Lightweight contests.
The bout that will main event the TUF 22 Finale is at Lightweight with number 1 ranked contender Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomendov (22-0) squaring off with TUF 13 winner, the number 9 ranked contender Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (19-3). Nurmagomendov is 6-0 in the UFC, but due to a knee injury hasn’t fought since April of 2014, when he defeated now UFC Lightweight World Champion Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision. Ferguson is also on a 6 fight win streak, his last 3 wins have been submitting both Abel Trujillo and Gleison Tibau; most recently “El Cucuy” beat former Strikeforce Champion Josh Tjhompson via unanimous decision.
Al at 155 lbs. we’ve got a battle a Jiu Jitsu experts as Joe Lauzon (25-10) coming off a 1st round TKO of Takanori Gomi, face Evan Dunham (16-6), who’s won consecutive decision over Rodrigo Damm and Ross Pearson.
At Welterweight Mike Pierce (17-6) returns to action for the 1st time since October 2013, when Rousimar Palhares injured Pierce holding on to a leg lock after the tap, standing in the other corner will be Ryan LaFlare (11-1) who will look to rebound from his 1st career loss, a unanimous decision to Demian Maia. Pierce has went into his fight with Palhares on a 4 fight win streak.
