Live at Fire & Ice Park in Grants, New Mexico for Fire & Ice Fury, a 5 bout boxing card headlined by Cameron Kreal challenging Josh “Pitbull” Torres for the WBC US NBC Lightweight title.

Heavyweight: Ron Baca (271.6) vs. Manuel Otero (224.8) – 4 rds.

Recap- Baca started out pressing forward  throwing  punches in combination. Baca’s most effective punch was a left hook he landed cleanly 5 times. The cleanest of which hit home in the 3rd round an found Otero in trouble. In the 4th Otero would show heart have his best round landing a uppercut that had Baca stunned.

Result- Ron Baca by unanimous decision

 

Featherweight: Jose Osorio (128) vs. Gillermo Alvarez (126.4) – 6 rds.

Recap-Alvarez struck 1st with a big left hook, that woke Osorio up. Osorio would get back in his groove with combinations that started off the jab. In the closing seconds of the 1st Osorio would pin Alvarez against the ropes and score a knockdown. Combinations vs. Single shots. Osorio changes levels and angles threw the kitchen sink at a gritty Alvarez. From the 3rd round on Alvarez’s nose was be bleeding. Osorio would continue to stalk and land a high volume of punches.

Result- Jose Osorio by (60-53, 60-53, 60-53) unanimous decision

 

Middleweight: Ambrocio Bautista (164.4) vs. Andrea Galarza (163.8) – 4 rds.

Recap-A slow start to the bout with both measuring with the jab. In the 2nd Bautista played the bull and Galarza was the matador with the bull landing at a higher volume and the matador head hunting. in the 3rd Galarza picked up his output and landedva hard 3 punch combination but Bautista  didn’t lighten up on his pressure or pace. By the 4th Galarza’s hands were dropping his mouth was wide An he was looking for one shot as Bautista kept on his tactful onslaught.

Result- Ambrosio Bautista by (39-37, 40-36, 40-36) unanimous decision

Super Featherweight: Alex Holguin (129.6) vs. John Herrera (128.6) – 6 rds.

Recap- Holguin out the gate bouncing a round popping punches putting leather in Herrera’s face. Herrera in the 2nd came out working his head movement. Holguin suffocating with his pressure continually popping off straight punches. Herrera as always smiling through it all. Herrera in the second landed 8 or so good punches but was no where near Holguins accuracy an volume. In the 3rd Herrera had ring control putting Hoolguin on the ropes, but his out put didn’t improve. Herrera was able to keep the fight in the pocket dude to his iron  chin absorbing the Holguin attack. The 4th was more of the same. The 5th  saw Holguin attacking with the jab an following with hooks to the body or the big uppercut. Holguin scored the first knock down of the bout in the 6th. Herrera came hard when he got back to his feet an landed a solid left hook. Holguin in the final seconds threw a 5 punches combination to put his stamp on the fight.

Result- Alex Holguin by (60-53, 60-53, 59-54) unanimous decision

WBC US NBC Super Lightweight Title: Josh Torres (140) vs. Cameron Kreal(139.6)– 10 rds.

Recap- Started as a feeling out round. Torres picked up the pace and off his jab was putting money in the bank, hitting the body. Kreal In the 2nd snapped Torres head back with the jab on 3 occasions. Torres  kept ripping hooks to the body. In the 3rd Kreal found a home for his left cross, while Torres worked the body and 4 punch combinations. Kreal landed two nice combinations in the 4th  While Torres 3 times opened up with Kreal on the ropes. In the 5th Kreal connected with big right  Torres an hurt the champ who had to clinch an recover. By the end of the 5th Torres had got the momentum back an had swelling under his left eye. Round 6 they are head to head exchanging In the pocket. Blood is coming from Torres nose. Kreal sliding across ropes as Torres leans in with hooks an the occasional uppercut. The 1st 2 minutes of the 7th were back an forth as they took turns leading the dance. Last minute saw Torres bite down come forward an take back momentum. Round 8 Krael landed nice power right hands, Torres shook them off to again be chasing down Kreal by the end of the round. Torres started the 9th with aggression an combinations but that slowed after a Kreal right hand. Torres was was backing an covering as the round ended. In his corner you could see the marks of war all over Torres face. In the 10th Kreal would land a few hard single shots, Torres kept the pressure got on the inside with his hook. The bout ended with both men furiously swing.

Result-Cameron Kreal by (97-93, 95-95, 96-94) majority decision. Kreal

takes the win off the heavier hard shots, and causing more damage.
