Bellator 147 Moves Dates & Announces CO an Headlining Bouts

Bellator 147 has been moved up a week, from December 11th to December 4th, to not go head to head with the UFC’s TUF 22 Finale.

A pair of bout have been announced for the event which will take place at the San Jose State Event Center in San Jose, California, with in the main event at Lightweight San Jose’s own(24-4-1) faces Daniel Weichel (35-9).

Thomson a former Strikeforce champion and UFC end a 3 fight skid in his promotional debut with a 3rd round submission of former Legacy FC champion Mike Bronzoulis. Villaseca signed with Bellator after a 9-0 start to his pro career. In his promotional debut “El Gallo” lost a split decision to Bobby Cooper. Villaseca got back in the win column in September with a submission win over Marcos Cornejo outside the promotion.

Karakhanyan a former WSOF champion last fought in January of 2015, putting Bubba Jenkins to sleep with a guillotine choke at Bellator 132. In doing so “Insane” earned himself a title shot that would be taken away by a knee injury. Weichel, went into his title opportunity at Bellator 138, with a 7 fight win streak and had current champion Patricio Freire staggered in the survival mode in the first; to get caught and knocked out by the champion 32 seconds into the 2nd round.
