A 3rd major injury has again grounded “The Eagle”. A rib injury has forced Khabib Nurmagomedov (22-0) to withdraw from his scheduled TUF 22 Finale meeting with Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (19-3).

Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since a April 2014, unanimous decision win over Rafael dos Anjos, the current UFC Lightweight title holder. Nurmagomedov was then sidelined with a knee injury. Nurmagomedov would re-injure his knee and be forced to withdraw from a UFC 187 meeting with Donald Cerrone.

TUF 14 winner Tony Ferguson, who’s on a 6 fight win streak, coming off a unanimous decision win over Josh Thomson, will remain on the card, now facing Brazilian Edson Barboza, the winner of 3 out of his last 5, and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Paul Felder.
