Bellator 149 adds Pineda vs. Sanchez
Featherweights Daniel Pineda (21-11), a UFC vet and former 2 weight-class Legacy FC champion, and Duke Rufus product Emmanuel “El Matador” Sanchez (12-2) will tangle at Bellator 149 in Houston, Texas.
From 2012-2014, Pineda found himself in a stretch of losing 4 out of 5 and being released from the UFC. Pineda returned to Legacy where he had won 5 times before moving up to the UFC. The home cooking would do Pineda well as hes on a 3 fight win streak with all the wins coming via submission. Pineda in all has 15 of 21 stoppage wins by submission.
Sanchez has won 8 of his last 9 and 2 in a row. At Bellator 139, Sanchez dropped a unanimous decision to former champion Pat Curran and has since defeated Henry Corrales and Justin Lawrence by split decision.
