Landon Vannata goes for Gold at RFA 36

Undefeated Jackson-Wink fighter “Groovy” Landon Vannata (7-0) will be challenging Brazilian Raoni Barcelos (9-1) for the RFA Featherweight Title, March 4th; in the main event of RFA 36.

RFA 36 will take place at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota; which is where Vannata made his promotional debut with a crushing TKO of Chad Curry, that was a RFA knockout of the year candidate. As dangerous as a striker as Vannata has proven to be, he actually has more wins via submission with 4 and only 2 knockouts. Recently on The DC Life Uncensored Jackson-Wink striking coach Brandon Gibson said of Vannata “he’s a next generation fighter”.

Barcelos has 5 of 6 stoppage wins via knockout and is 3-1 in the RFA octagon. Since being submitted at RFA 14, by Mark Dickman, Barcelos has knocked out Jamal Park and won the RFA 145lbs. Title with a unanimous decision win over Ricky Musgrave at RFA 29, which was the Brazil vs. USA event.

The co-main event will see Minnesota’s own Melvin “The Career Killer” Blumer (12-3) against Shawn “The Exception” West (12-6-0, 1nc). Blumer 6-1 in his last 7, will be looking to rebound from a RFA 32 TKO loss to Leandro Higo. West is undefeated in his last 8 and on a 4 fight win streak; with 6 wins by way of knockout. These 2 have a combined 22 wins by stoppage.

The card will also feature a Flyweight bout with UFC vet Chico “King” Camus (14-7-0, 1nc) squaring off with RFA vet Matt Brown (10-5), who’s won 4 of 5; and will be dropping to 125 lbs. for the first time.

Bantamweight: Melvin Blumer (12-3) vs. Shawn West (12-6-0, 1nc)
Flyweight: Chico Camus (14-7-0, 1nc) vs. Matt Brown (10-5)
