UFC Fight Night 87 Headlined by Belfort vs. Jacare
The UFC has announced that there first, 2016 event in to Brazil will be on May 14 with the main event seeing two of the nations top fighters facing off, as former UFC champion Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort (25-11) collides with former Strikforce champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Belfort the UFC’s numer 3 ranked contender, has won 4 of his last 5 and recently rebounded from a UFC 187 2nd round TKO loss to Chris Weidman, with a knock out of Dan Henderson. Overall “The Phenom” has 18 of 21 stoppage win by way of knock out.
Souza the UFC’s number 2 raked contender, will be looking to rebound from a controversial decision loss to Yoel Romero, which ended a 8 fight win streak; that saw “Jacare” defeat the likes of Derek Brunson (ko), Ed Herman (sub), Yushin Okami(tko), and Gegard Mousasi (sub). Souza has 16 of 18 stoppage win by way of submission.
Venue and location for the fight are not yet official.
