Pena-Zingano & Northcutt-Marin added to UFC 200
There is already 2 new bouts announced for July’s UFC 200, including the 1st addition form the woman’s division, which will see the return of a former title challenger.
At 135 lbs. TUF 18 winner Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Pena will be welcoming “Alpha” Cat Zingano to the Octagon. Inside the cage Pena is 3-0 in the UFC with TKO’s of Jessica Rakoczy and Milana Dudieva; plus a unanimous decision win over Jessica Eye. Outside the Cage Pena was arrested in December and charged with 2 counts of assault. This week Pena was granted a stipulation of continence in the case. Zingano has 8 stoppage wins with 5 (T)KO’s and 3 submissions, but will be fighting for the first time since a 14 second loss to Ronda Rousey at UFC 184.
For his return to 155 lbs. “Super” Sage Northcutt, will look to show his grit and rebound from a UFC on Fox 18, 2nd round, submission loss to Bryan Barberena. Northcutt won his 1st 7 pro bouts by stoppage, including UFC wins over Francisco Trevino (tko) and Cody Pfister (sub). Marin was a TUF Latino season 2 finalist, who lost a split decision in the finale to Erick Montano. The loss ended a 6 fight win streak, that saw Marin claim 5 victories via submission.
UFC 200 is July 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
