1st UFC Woman’s Flyweight Fight Announced for UFC Fight Night

The UFC has announced that Canada, Valerie Letourneau (10-1) a former Strawweight title challenger and Scotland’s Joanne Caldrwood (8-4), a TUF 20 vet will make history, June 18th, as the 1st woman’s 125 lbs. fight inside the octagon.

Keep in mind the woman’s Flyweight has not officially been add as a official UFC weight-class

At UFC 193, Letourneau failed to capture the UFC’s woman’s Strawweight title, losing to Joanna Jedrzejczyk via unanimous decision, ending a 4 fight win streak that included 3 straight decision wins inside the octagon. Calderwood has 4 wins by knock out and is 2-1 in the octagon with decision wins over Seo Hee Ham and Cortney Casey. The loss came against Maryna Moroz via submission, who did lose via unanimous decision to Valerie Letourneau.

UFC Fight Night 89 takes place on June 18th at the TD Place Arena. In Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
