GKO 7 headlined by Sanchez vs. Sandoval
The main event for Global Knockouts 7, has been announced and will see UFC vet, JacksonWink fighter, Joby Sanchez (7-2) challenging Team Alpha Males, Hector “Kid Alex” Sandoval(12-2), for the GKO Flyweight title.
Early in life Sanchez started out his martial arts journey learning Kaji Kimbo Karte at Chavez Dojo. In high school Sanchez wrestled for Valley, here in ABQ. Sanchez started off his pro MMA career with 6 straight stoppage wins, earning a UFC contract. After going 1-2, in 3 fights in the octagon and coming off a TKO loss Geane Herreara, Sanchez was released from the promotion. Winning a regional title would go a long in Sanchez’s efforts to return to the UFC.
Sandoval is a California native, who was submitted by Ulysses Gomez in his pro debut. Almost 2 years later Sandoval had his 2nd pro fight, which started a 8 fight win streak. Since a 1st rd TKO loss to Willie Gates, Sandoval has won 4 in a row, including a 1st rd TKO of Eloy Garza at GKO 6 to become GKO Flyweight champion. Sandoval is in the spot were a 5 fight win streak and a win over a UFC vet could punch his ticket to the “big show”.
GKO 7 will be on August 27th, at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort and has been announced as an out door event. Tickets are available globalknockout.com
