Barboza Meet Melendez at UFC on Fox 20
Coming off a huge win at UFC 197, Edson Barboza (17-4) will now look to defeat another”former world champion when he collided with Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez (22-5).
Barboza has won 2 of his last 3, with decision wins over Paul Felder and Anthony Pettis on either side of a submission loss to Tony Ferguson.
Melendez will be coming off a year long suspension for a positive steroid test, following a UFC 188split decision loss to now number 1 contender Eddie Allvarez. The loss is the 2nd straight for the former Strikeforce Lightweight champion, who was also submitted by Anthony Pettie at UFC 181.
UFC on Fox 20 takes place on July 23rd at the United Centering Chicago, Illinois; and will mostly be broadcasted on Fox.
