Dana White has announced that the new main event for Hune 4th‘s UFC 199 will see Michael “The Count” Bisping (28-7) Challenging Luke Rockhold (15-2) for the UFC Middleweight title.

Originally it was Chris Wiedman who was going to challenge Rockhold but due to a herniated disk in his neck, that was pressing on a nerve, those plans have been scrapped. The next person in line to fill the void was Ronald “Jacare” Souza, but due to a meniscus injury, Souza is also on the shelf. As we head down the rankings the next call was to Michael Bisping, who accepted.

Bisping has been fighting inside the octagon since June of 2006 going 18-7 in that span. Since taping to a guillotine choke, inside the first minute, of the 2nd round, at UFC Fight Night 55, to Luke Rockhold, Bisping has won 3 controversial decisions over CB Dollaway, Thales Leites, and Anderson Silva.

Rockhold, is also a former Strikeforce Middleweight champion, who;’s won 5 straight defeating Costas Philippou (KO), Tim Boetsch (sub), Michael Bisping (sub), Lyoto Machida (sub), and Chris Weidman (tko).
