Invicta FC 18 headlined by Esquibel vs Grasso

New Mexico’s Jodie Esquibel and Mexico’s Alexa Grasso will tangle in the main event of Invicta FC 18.

The headlining strawweight bout should produce the 1st challenger to newly crowned champion Angela “Over Kill” Hill.

Esquibel who recently turned 30, is a long time member of the JacksonWink camp, who originally started her combat sports journey in Boxing. 3-1 in the Inivcta cage Esquibel has officially won consecutive decisions over Jinh Yu Frey and Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc. Unofficially Esquibel is looking to rebound from a controversial split decision loss to Ashley Yoder in an exhibition fight to get into the TUF 23 house.

Grasso is currently 22 years old undefeated product of Lobo MMA, with 4 knock out wins. Grasso has went 3-0 in Invicta with decision wins over Ashley Cummins and Mizuki Inoue; plus a Invicta FC 10 1st round TKO of Alida Gray.

The events co-main event will see Irene Aldana against Taila Santos, witht the winner earning a shot at Invicta FC Bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger. Aldana is also a member of Lobo MMA and is 3-1 in Invicta. Aldana has submitted Peggy Morgan and Collen Schneider, but suffered a 4th rd TKO loss to Tonya Evinger; and most recently rebounded with a TKO of Jessamyn Duke. Santos is an undefeated Brazilian who”l be fighting under the Invicta banner for the first time but has 9 of 11 stoppage wins via knock out.

Invicta FC 18 is July 29th at the Kansas City Scottish Rote Temple in Kansas City, Missouri.
