During Saturdays UFC 199 pay per view, it was officially an nounced that former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-3) will be returning to the octagon.
This morning, the Monday morning following the big news, Lesnar sat down on the ESPN SportsCenter set and said the contacts have just been signed and I will be facing Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
Lesnar holds wins over Health Herrig, Randy Couture, and Frank Mir. Lesnar did head into retirement on the heels of TKO losses to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem. The later of which came in December of 2011. His retirement also came after bouts with diverticulitis.
Following his retirement from MMA, Lesnar returned to working part time with World Wrestling Entertainment. Even tho Lesnar is returning to MMA, he said he well be part of WWE’s Summer Slam event in August. Lesnar himself said he’s unsure if he’ll be one an done with fighting.
Hunt is the king of the walkoff knockout and is a former K-1 (KickingBoxing) Heavyweigt champion, who’s coming off knockout wins over Frank Mir and Antonio Silva.
UFC 200 is July 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
