With Hector Sandoval having been called by to the UFC, it’s Martin “Tarzan” Sandoval (9-6) who will step up and face UFC vet Joby Sanchez (7-2) at Global Knockouts 7.
Sandoval has been a pro since 2008 and has never won a decision with 3 knock outs and 6 submissions. Sandoval will be looking to halt a 2 fight skid, having lost consecutive decisions to Alex Perez and Hector Sandoval.
Sanchez is a 25 year old member of the JacksonWink Fight Team, who started his martial arts career at the Chavez Dojo, and wrestled for Valley high school. A 6-0 start to his pro career saw Sanchez get the call to the octagon. In the UFC Sanchez went 1-2, debuting with a decision loss to now number 1 contender Wilson Reis. Joby rebounded with a UFC Fight Night 59, decision win over Tateki Matsude and was released following a 2nd round TKO loss to Geane Herrera back in December.
