Bellator has announced a match-up of Middleweight knockout artists for October 21st that will see Hisaki Kato against AJ Matthews.
Kato has all 6 of his career wins via knock out and is coming off a win over Yuta Wantanabe, from Rizin 1. Matthews has 6 of his 8 wins by knockout and is looking to rebound, after having lost consecutive fights to Anatoly Tokov (ko) and Ben Reiter (ud).
Also newly added to the card, in the lightweight division UFC vet Ryan Couture will face, moving up a weight class Goiti Yamauchi. Couture is coming off having a 4 fight win streak ended by a knock out loss to Patricky Freire. Yamauchi is coming off having a 3 fight win streak ended by a unanimous decision loss to Bubba Jenkins.
The prelims have also seen an addition at 170 lbs., with lengthy striker Rickey Rainey set to tangle with former RFA champion, Gilbert Smith, who’s a very musculed fighter.
Bellator 162 takes place on October 21st at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
